Sweat Shop

IMG_5604How many times have you tossed a towel down on a piece of gym equipment, a bench, or a mat only to pick it up again to wipe the sweat from your face? Do you know which side of the towel was touching the gym surface? Do you know how many germs could be lurking on that gym equipment? SICK! Not only are those germs “sick” as in disgusting, those germs could literally make you sick!

Well, with a Safe Side Towel you don’t have to second guess which side is the right side! The Safe Side Towel indicates which side of your workout towel goes towards the gym and which side goes towards your face or body. Thus, it minimizes the gym germs touching your body. Brilliant!

And, Safe Side Towels are unbelievably soft, I know, I bought three! These towels are made from 70% bamboo and 30% cotton. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial, anti-fungal, eco-friendly, super absorbent, and great for sensitive skin. Safe Side Towels come in three colors: White, coffee, and pink.

I never hit the gym without a Safe Side Towel in my gym bag. Want to put one in your gym bag, too?

One lucky Fitness & Spice reader will WIN a set of 3 Safe Side Towels by entering our drawing. Simply tell us what thing(s) you absolutely must take to the gym with you in the comments section below.

This contest will end on Tuesday, November 3rd at 11:59 P.M. and the winner will be announced on Wednesday.

Now, I really must go hit the gym and face another sweaty workout…but I better charge my iPod first, just to be on the safe side!

Very cool towel. I love it! But I don’t love that I don’t have a gym membership. ((hangs head in sorrow))

@Josie I love the towels too, I like you don’t have a membership at the time. But when I did I couldn’t go without my Ipod! There is something about listening to good music that makes a workout!

Oh gosh!! I unfortunately bring a small orange towel with me, which I never thought about regarding germs!! ahhhh, gross!! Ok, so I take that towel, and my keys, and my iPod, and sometimes my jump rope :) I think I will have to think harder about my towel from now on…no germs on my face please!

I never go to the gym without my water bottle and my gloves. I also always take a positive attitude. I get so much more done that way!

Good morning!!

I never go without an Ipod, a hat to dissuade anyone from talking to me (lol) and a water bottle. I’ve never brought a towel but just might think about it now…:o)

This isn’t a very original answer, but the truth is, I can’t go without my iPod. Even though I have a tendency to accidentally sing out loud, I NEED my own music to work out with! My
gym sure doesn’t play 6 Britney songs in a row ;)

I always bring my ipod (need good music), my yoga mat (for post-run stretching / yoga), and an extra hair band (I hate when hair falls in my face!).

Love your site!! My must haves at the gym are Ipod, Polar F55 and hairbands. I’ll go without my shoes but not my Ipod. The towels are a great idea.

My scrunchies, ipod, a bottle of water, moistened facial wipes (otherwise my skin becomes horrible). I love your blog btw ;)

I never, ever go to the gym without my Camelbak Bite Valve water bottle. I finally learned to only fill it about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way so I’m not thrown off balance by a heavy bottle when I pick it up in the middle of a run. The bite valve is great because it means I’m not accidentally pouring water over myself as I bounce up and down on the treadmill. I also bring my willpower so I don’t gorge on the giant menu of delicious smoothies they offer in the brand new cafe! ;-)

That is so gross! My family calls me the germ police because I am always cleaning everything. :) My gym must-haves are my heart rate monitor, antibacterial gel, and a lock for my locker.

I laugh that every time I see those in a mag I covet them.
youd think Id be able to remember on my own—I am not.

I love these towels!!! They are a little pricey but I might just need to add them to my Christmas list… hehe. I basically bring a suitcase to the gym. It includes my Garmin Forerunner (in case I run outside) my Polar F60, two workout outfits (since I sometimes do a lunch sess and then another one after work), a full body towel, two work out towels, iPod nano, and then all the things I need to get ready after the gym including makeup and a blowdryer. Yeah – just a little high maintenance! ;-)
