Trader Joanna’s

IMG_7005I don’t live in a city where there’s a Trader Joe’s. In fact, I’ve never even been to a Trader Joe’s but I imagine it is much like Disney World…one of the happiest places on Earth.

People tease me with their mentions of Trader Joe’s pumpkin butter and whole wheat pie crusts. And, just last week Brett told me about a recipe she made using Trader Joe’s Very Cherry Berry Blend of frozen berries.  I think we should call it something like…

Brett’s Berry Good Sorbet

  • 3/4 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 3 T water
  • 2 T almond milk
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

Blend ingredients in your Magic Bullet or blender and enjoy.

Since I don’t have access to the mixed berry blend that Brett suggested, I went with what I had in Trader Joanna’s freezer. I have to admit, this recipe was fabulous with frozen cranberries. Thanks to Brett for sharing this recipe with us…she’s a lot like cranberry sorbet…quite a sweet-tart.

Now I really must go whip up some more berry sorbet and wish my sister Jennifer a happy birthday!

Joanna,
Okay, the photo here makes this look delicious! No Trader Joe’s here either (does that make you feel any better??). Almond milk….so there’s something I haven’t had before (I’ve always had my almonds in solid form…).

Happy Birthday Jennifer!!!

There’s a trader joe’s hear, but the battle inside isn’t worth the effort.

Happy Birthday, to your sister!

Looks yummy! I so wish we had a Trader Joe’s. Was in CA recently for business. I loaded up. They even had an adorable ‘guacamole kit’. Maybe someday….Thanks for the recipe!

Yeah this is the first place I live (DC metro area) where Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and Harris Teeter are within about 1-2 miles away from me. Tell your sister happy birthday!

Trader Joe’s RULES! We used to live near one, when we were closer to Boston. But now, we are in a suburb about 35 miles out. My husband (oh, how I love him) still shops at TJs since his office is near one and brings home 2 full bags on the commuter rail. So, here’s the plan for next December, Joanna. You’ll make a trip out East, come to my neighbor’s awesome cocktail party, and we’ll hit Trader Joe’s!
