Yesterday I had a pina colada for breakfast and french toast for lunch.
Thanks to Capella Flavor Drops I can change up the flavor of my beloved protein shakes, oat meal, coffee, tea, egg whites, Greek yogurt, you name it, without adding calories. Capella Flavor Drops are a highly concentrated, water soluble, flavoring, they are not only free of calories, but free of sugars and sweeteners, too. Besides, who needs sweetener when you’re sweet enough already?
I turned my morning vanilla protein shake into a (virgin) pina colada just by adding 6 flavor drops. And, I turned my egg whites into mock french toast by whipping together 1 cup egg whites, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of stevia, and french toast drops together then baking it up omelette-style.
Have you ever tried Capella Flavor Drops? If you haven’t you need to visit their site and check out all of their ahh-mazing flavors. And, if you haven’t tried them in a while, you need to go back because they’ve added a new line up. I know my friend Carrie cannot wait to drop it like it’s hot and try the Hot Cinnamon Candy!
Now I really must make go make a crumb cake, if you’re in the neighborhood please drop by, I’ll be the one singing aCapella.

January 22nd 2010I’ve never heard of those! I’m thinking the Banana Split flavor would be AWESOME in yogurt!

January 22nd 2010I have never heard of these and they sound great. I have been into trying greek yogurt lately which can be very bland. This would totally help spice it up!!
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says:
January 22nd 2010Ooh, I’ve never heard of these! I’d love to give them a try! Are they artificially sweetened?
The Candid RD says:
January 22nd 2010Oh how fun! I’ve never tried these (you always have the neatest products on your blog). I used to buy little flavors to add to my lattes, but not this brand, and the flavor selection wasn’t so amazing. Pina colada?! crazy. I may even add it to my oats….I bet they have a peanut butter flavor! Thanks for the link.

January 22nd 2010This is totally new to me, so thanks! I bet some of these would be great in hot chocolate. You always have such great ideas!

January 22nd 2010Hey, thanks for the info. I’ve been reading your blog for a while (I don’t have one!), and saw this today. I just went to the site and ordered over $65 of stuff! DAMN! HaHa. I see that they also have drops to flavor water, so I had to pick up a few of those, too. I used LorAnn’s that I get from Netrition.com. They’re OK, but they don’t have all of these great flavors. Can’t wait to get the order and try these out. Thanks!!!! – Nancy
Heather @ Side of Sneakers says:

Joanna Sutter says:
January 22nd 2010Nancy….I’m sorry that my blog is costing you money! LOL! But I’m thrilled that you are going to try Capella. I did the same thing on my first order….I was like a kid in a candy store! Let me know how you like them! ;-)
april says:
January 22nd 2010Those sound so good! I add flavors to everything.. I bet it’d be delicious in cottage cheese! Is it a stevia based sweetener? Oh, and I was going to ask you- how many calories does your trainer have you eating a day?
Joanna Sutter says:
January 22nd 2010Hi April! Great idea on the cottage cheese! My trainer does not have me counting calories. I focus on food quality and timing instead. Ping me if you have any questions!
april says:
January 22nd 2010What does ping mean?? haha! I think that’s great that your not counting calories.. I even wonder if I should be eating more! Do you eat when your not hungry as well? And how much protein are you getting a day?
Joanna Sutter says:
January 22nd 2010Ping, lol, means slap me upside the head here in the comments, on your blog, on Facebook, on Twitter, email, Fast Track…you name it! ;-) But since we’re here…
If I’m hungry between the 5-6 small meals I’m eating a day, I will add more veggies or a shot of protein (like half scoop protein shake, some egg whites, a hard boiled egg for example). I typically average between 20-30 grams of protein per meal. And 2 or 3 servings of Capella Flavor Drops for good measure! ;-)

January 22nd 2010Have you noticed your hungrier with heavy weight lifting? I lifted heavy today and I can’t seem to be satisfied!
Jody - Fit at 52 says:
January 22nd 2010Joanna.. holy you know what!!!! I am salivating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will have to see if they sell theses in the stores anywhere. Have not clicked on the site yet. Being “poor”, I don’t want to end up like Nancy & spending money I don’t have! :-) I have not heard of these.. THX!
JC says:
January 22nd 2010Jody – There are always specials going on. And you can just buy a couple that won’t break the bank. ;)
Nancy says:
January 22nd 2010They actually do have a deal going on right now. You get 20% off your order – can you imagine if I didn’t have that discount?!?! ha ha.
Oh, and I just saw April’s comment about being hungrier on heavy lifting days. I can attest to that! On leg days, I swear that I can’t get home fast enough, so that I can eat. I’m lucky that my gym is only 15 minutes away from my house. :-) In fact, my leg day is tomorrow, and I already have yogurt, butternut squash, and almond butter ready to get stuffed in my face.
Diane Fit to the Finish says:
January 22nd 2010Can you add them to coffee? Even if you can’t – they sound really great!
Joanna Sutter says:
January 22nd 2010April and Nancy, I think hunger is a sign of a good workout! Or it could just mean your hungry ;-). Right now I’m carb-cycling so on my higher carb days, I’m certainly making sure I’m working hard in the gym so I earn those carbs. But to answer your question, April, I do find I go from zero to starving within 20 minutes after a heavy-lifting day so I make sure I have food ready to go or I can get off track in a flash.
Jody, JC is right! These flavors are affordable…and you don’t have to stuff your shopping cart quite as full as Nancy and I did on our first visits.
Diane, Yes! Capella Flavor Drops are fabulous in coffee and teas, too.
Tracy says:
January 22nd 2010I am forever indebted to you!!! I used to have about every flavor of the sugar-free Davinci syrups displayed proudly on a wine rack. However, when I gave up artificial sweetners, they were the first to go. Thank you soo so much! Finally a replacement besides vanilla stevia and True Lemon and Lime! I just shopped til I dropped!
Jess (Fit Chick in the City) says:
January 23rd 2010What fantastic flavors! I’m on my way over for the coffee cake. I’ll bring the coffee. =) Have a great weekend!

January 23rd 2010I’ve never tried these flavor drops, but they look like they’d be wonderful – so many uses! And thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on the Larabars :-). I tend to eat them fairly slowly too because they really are a sweet treat. And I’ll keep in mind that you’re in Omaha in case I’m ever in that neck of the woods ;-).
Rachel says:
January 23rd 2010Have to buy these immediately.
