Brownie Points

I have a very healthy sweet tooth.

In fact, dessert is my favorite food group, but I rarely order dessert when I’m at a restaurant…I’m the one at the table that takes a bite or two off of everyone’s plate just to satisfy my sweet cravings. And besides, those calories don’t count do they?

If you were my Valentine I would love you forever if you made me a guilt-free dessert. In fact, if you made me a healthy dessert like this it would easy plus you would score major…

Combine all ingredients in a microwave safe dish. Microwave for about 30 seconds. Garnish with more nut butter, fruit, or a dollop of Protein Freeze ice cream. Eat right away if not sooner.

I wish I could take credit for this little bundle of joy, but I found this simple recipe in a Protein Freeze cookbook.

Some of you might be wondering if you can make this recipe without the nut butter. Probably! Just be sure to let me know how it turns out!

What do you make when you want to score some brownie points with the one you love?

Now I really must go hit the gym and get ready for my second date with Justin…it’s going to be nuts!

Mmmm that sounds good. I make ‘cakes’ in the microwave with BSN dessert – they are pretty good!

When I make him chocolate chip cookies, my husband would do anything for me :-)

I am going to have to get my hands on some of this protein freeze!

Sounds yummy! I used my protein freeze samples to make that microwave cupcake from April’s site. I did a vanilla one & a chocolate one. Very good!

I am a terrible cook/baker so I don’t do that for my honey! I buy something or take him out!

I never met a brownie I didn’t like ;)

Joanna, I’m just like you. I don’t like ordering desserts at restaurants because they are a) expensive, b) HUGE and c) I know I will eat every last bite, despite being stuffed, if I order one! So taking bites of everyone else’s is a better plan :)

Nick and I are having brownies and ice cream for dessert tomorrow. I am not doing low fat, low sugar, low anything, because we are celebrating our V-day tomorrow and I want the REAL STUFF on V-day! Everything in moderation ;)

Your recipe sounds good. I still have not purchased protein powder, and probably won’t ever, but you’re slowly convincing me that it goes well with many foods!

The hubby and I started dating 2/13, and this will be 11 yrs that we are together. To celebrate, I’m making real deal brownies, using a Cook’s Illustrated recipe. We are going to make brownie sundaes, topped with slow churned vanilla bean ice cream. It’s a splurge, but we do practice portion control, so they won’t be nearly as huge as if we had one at a restaurant. We rarely have sweets, so it’s worth time time, prep, and extra calories!

I live for dessert. I’ve been known to skip dinner and only get dessert. Sometimes, dinner’s just not worth it. The brownie sounds great! Though I want something full-fat, full-cal for Valentine’s Day. It’s only once a year, right?
