Track Star

I am a track star.BYHO_Badge_R8

And by track star I mean I am pretty darn good at tracking my nutrition and my workouts. The importance of journaling was one of the lessons in Week 3 of the BetterU program. Not only do they encourage you to track your meals and workouts in a journal they encourage you to take the time to figure out what’s working and what needs improvement.

So, after reviewing my last two weeks in my fitbook, I’m going to focus on one area in my plan that needs improvement.

This week I’m going to start scheduling my workouts in my calendar. I’m going to schedule my workouts just like I would a meeting or an appointment. I rarely if never miss or show up late for a meeting so why not schedule and treat my workouts the same way? Lately, I have been cutting my workouts short because I’m in a hurry, and that, in my fitbook, is unacceptable.

So, while I might be a self-proclaimed track star, I need some work on calendar management.

What are your plans for improvement this week?

Now I really must go download a new track or two on my iPod, I forgot to mention, I’m also a Rock Star!

I’ve to get back on the water gulping train. And I need to get back to walking one hour during lunch, regardless of my morning workout.

I have tried to schedule in workouts, but I never pay attention to my calendar…LOL! I have been slacking in the workout department for awhile now..I need to get back on track, too!

Yeah, I so need to get a fitbook.
My goal this week is to start the Couch to 5K. Yeah, I keep saying it out loud everywhere. Not sure how it’s gonna go, but stay tuned.

This week I plan of being more flexible with my workouts! Just because I don’t get a morning workout in doesn’t mean I can’t do it in the afternoon ;)

Hey Track Star, nice job on using your fitbook to see where you need to improve! I’m starting a new training schedule this week, so that will be my plan for improvement.

Joanna! Awesome job of tracking! and better job of review, I know sometimes that just logging data means nothing if we don’t use that information to see where we are, where we came from and set new goals for where we want to be. <3

I think it is so important to schedule your workout AND me time on your calendar. It should be just like any other meeting. It IS just as important! Good for you!

Every day is a chance to improve for me! I need lots of it! :-)

That’s a great idea. Maybe if I schedule workouts I won’t ditch last minute. Another thing I just did: I set an alarm for the time I usually work out after work. Then when it goes off it reminds me I should be putting on workout clothes.

thats right girl! thats what I tell my clients, schedule gym time as if it were a meeting and if someone asks you to do something in that time just tell them you have a meeting! make it a priority and you are more likely to stick with it!!

you ARE a STAR!  great write-up on how to take it to the next level if you already are tracking (which you do so diligently!).  scheduling workouts into your week is a surefire way to make sure they happen.  my goal for improvement this week (as part of the betterU program too!) is to EARN my meals by drinking my water.  so literally in my fitbook i have a little dotted line before lunch, my afternoon snack and dinner as a reminder that i have to drink 1L of water to earn that next meal!  sounds corny but it works.  i’m 1L in for the day and if i’m hungry, well then i better chug away to “earn” lunch! :-)  if only people knew all the crazy ways i use the fitbook to reach my goals…thanks for sharing yours girl!

I tend to mentally schedule my workouts at the start of the week and rarely deviate (I guess that proves I’m a disciplined dork). When it comes to food, however, I don’t track what I eat because it would make me too obsessed with calorie counting. Instead, I prefer to plan my evening meals as far in advance as humanly possible to help ensure they are healthy and balanced. (Of course, that is the plan and assumes I have been to the grocery store).

I always schedule my workouts- it keeps me from stressing out about what I need to do! And keeps me accountable of course :)

I totally need to do the same thing – I have such a hard time sticking to my workouts in the winter. Is it Spring yet???

Such a good plan, though I tend to schedule my workouts, miss them and then just cross them out. I need some sort of penalty for not following through. Other than feeling lazy and not losing weight, which apparently is not influencing me so much.
