Kick the Bottle

IMG_7977I think it’s time I kick the bottle. Disposable water bottles that is.

I do a relatively good job of using refillable bottles, but I could do better. And when I read that one Brita Pitcher filter can replace as many as 300 standard 16.9 ounce plastic water bottles (300!) it made me stop and do better faster.

Brita teamed up with Nalgene to help reduce water bottle waste with its Filter For Good campaign. Great idea! Now we can continue to haveĀ  great tasting water with less waste.

Want to enter the drawing to WIN a Brita water pitcher and a Nalgene refillable water bottle? Then go to www.filterforgood.com, take the pledge to reduce water bottle waste, drink some water, and then tell us in the comments section what else you pledge to do better this week. The winner will be announced on Thursday, April 29th.

Now I really must go drink some water and see what’s on tap for the day.

I’ll make the pledge! I already use a Brita :) I love it! I rarely use plastic water bottles and I get so angry when I see people use them and throw them in the trash, rather than recycling them.. UGH! Great giveaway Joanna. Have a happy Tuesday :)

I pledge to get to the gym four out of the next six days–and to use the other two days to nurse my achy foot so it doesn’t become really injured!

I pledge to do better at turning the water off while I am brushing my teeth & then turn it back on to rinse…. I try but I need to do better & I will !

I will admit, I really could do a better job with this as well. I just get so lazy with my water bottle because I have to clean it after every use. I’ve got to step it up!

I pledge to use my water bottle (plastic) and will use only tubberware (& other similar brand products!) instead of ziploc bags. I will not waste any produce or let food spoil either… I’ll be creative & find recipe’s to incorporate all the food I currently have in my house. I also pledge to shop on the outside aisles in the grocery store and stay away from pre-packaged foods!

I took the pledge. What I’ll look for from now on: to pick up newspapers lying around in the train and recycle them at home (as well as plastic bottles) and use my bike more often!

As I sit here drinking water, and still trying hard to like it, I am frustrated by not being able to pledge at filterforgood.. I’m in Canada so i guess its a no-no.. I will however keep drinking my filtered water from a reusable bottle… trying oh so hard to pretend its Diet Pepsi!!

I have been using a Brita water filter pitcher for soooooo many years – love it! I am so picky about water, and Brita really makes it taste good.
