Get A Grip

IMG_8281-1I don’t typically wear lifting gloves when I workout because:

  • I think calluses are wicked cool
  • They can be a bit of a hassle when you only really need them for heavy lifts and not your entire workout
  • I lose gloves like socks (meaning I have plenty of gloves and socks without mates) and sporting the Michael Jackson look in the gym is not cool

But lately I’ve been using these great little Lynx Performance Grips that Angela regifted ;-) gave me a few months ago.

I think they’re great because:

  • They’re tacky. And by tacky I don’t mean cheesy, I mean they adhere to the bar and the palm of your hand with ease
  • They are the perfect solution for when your hands are sweaty or slippery from slapping on way too much body lotion before you workout
  • Sometimes your grip strength gives out before your muscles do (for me that’s lifts like deadlifts, chin ups, and pull ups)
  • They’re affordable! You can find them online at sites like GNC or 24 Hour Fitness for about $10
  • They come in pink! (They also have other colors like black, blue, orange, and red)

Now I really must go grab a bite and get a hold of Ang to thank her for such a tacky gift!

Those look so cool. I don’t wear gloves, I hate them and think they are so annoying. These would be perfect!

Those are cool. I bet they’re easy to slip in a pocket when you don’t need them. I don’t wear gloves but I secretly want to. I just don’t think I’m hard core enough to be wearing them. I know, weird.

I saw those when shopping for new gloves but I thought it would be annoying to carry them around the gym all day. I figured gloves would be easier, since I can wear them and all.

I love my workout gloves.. have been wearing gloves since day 1 BUT I do a pretty hard core & longer sessions. For a while I could not find a good women’s pair as they started to make whimpy gloves till I found my schiek gloves. http://www.schiek.com/gloves.html. These are awesome & sturdy like men’s & they have women’s that are nice & padded like I need! I will have to check your goodies out though to see what they are all about.

stellar! i think i let my grip issues get in the way of effective lifting sometimes, and i too lose gloves quite frequently. not a fan. but i think i will be a fan of these!

glad you love them!  little shout out to my buyer at 24 hour that gave me a few pairs to try out…but trust me, when i saw they were pink i knew exactly who needed to try out a pair!  i guess the creator of the lynx grips is a previous 24 hour employee that went on to create the product.  so fitbook and lynx grips are 2 of 24 hour’s “entrepreneurial” products that they were so kind to give a whirl.  love big companies that appreciate the go-get-em-ness of the entrepreneur’s spirit!  LOVE 24 hour…and glad you love your lynx grips! :-)

How cool are those? I might have to try them if I ever want to part with my “wicked cool” calluses.
