Taking Care of Your Well Oiled Machine

gasI was driving to the gym yesterday on empty. Literally and figuratively. Thankfully I didn’t run out of gas before, during, or after my workout.

It got me thinking how much our bodies are like our cars…

  • When we start our engines it’s important to warm up
  • When we put in cheap fuel with a lot of additives we don’t perform at our best
  • When we leave the house we should always check our rear view in the mirror
  • When we’re low on fluids we can get overheated quickly
  • When we neglect to recharge our batteries we don’t get anywhere fast
  • When we break down we should call a friend
  • When we don’t change our treads we can get out of alignment
  • When we reach a certain age it’s time for a little deodorizer
  • When guys take their tops off it usually means they’re on their way to a six pack
  • When we get too much junk in the trunk it can reduce our mileage
  • When we have no clue where we’re going we should break out the GPS
  • When there’s something funky coming out of the tailpipe it’s time to pull over (and get out of the gym!)
  • When we put on a spare tire it’s never good news
  • When we go out we should really get washed and waxed

Now I really must go to bed, I’m utterly exhausted!

Tototally agree with our bodies are just like cars. I know when I put in the low quality foods I will hit a slump really quickly. When I eat whole foods I feel and act so much better. I also know when I eat too little and running on empty my workout performance suffers. Great coorelation!

This was hysterical. I particularly love this: When we get too much junk in the trunk it can reduce our mileage. Ha ha.

I love this!  Its so true… If I put crappy fuel in my body, it doesn’t feel so hot, but when I eat healthy, my body feels great!  Just like my car runs better when I put the good gas in it :)
But sometimes my wallet forces me to put the crappy gas in :(

Haha! That is too cute! I like the breakdown & call a friend, junk in the trunk, and get waxed & washed ones.
