I used to make my own soy-crumbles (like the ones you buy from Yves etc). It's also good with oats, lentils, chickpeas etc (to make patties). If you ever want to make a vegetarian portabello mushroom 'burger' this works great! Add shrooms, veggies of choice (onion, eggplant etc), buckwheat or any other grain and you can save tons of money! Thanks for reminding me about this. I don't eat soy usually, but I've been wanting to pick up Soya-tein from the Ethnic Isle of the grocery store!

I haven't had TVP in forever! At one point I was obsessed with it. Maybe it's time for it to make a come back.

I'm a bit leery of TVP. It's one of the million and a half things that big agriculture makes with soy in order to do make money off of crops that are grown primarily to replenish the soil of nutrients.

This was the ingredient that they recalled about 6 months ago. It was in many foods across the nation and there was a salmonella (I think??) outbreak due to the TVP. I Was on the news talking about it, actually. Despite that, I trust Bob's Red Mill and I would love to try this!! Mixing it with nut butter always sounds like a great idea to me :)
