McPickmeup

drinkI was on the phone with one of my favorite people of all time on Friday as he was pulling through a fast food restaurant.

“Hang on a second,” he said and then proceeded to speak into the intercom, “I’ll have a number 2 with a sweet tea.”

When he resumed our conversation he quickly blurted, “Don’t lecture me.”

Who, me?

Lecture!?

Never!

I typically don’t eat fast food so for all I know the number 2 he ordered could have been a spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette and a side of baked sweet potato fries, right? Right!

Now while it’s rare that I eat fast food, it is not so rare that I stop for a drink at a fast food restaurant.

My friend Kelly has been raving about the coffee at McDonald’s for months, so this weekend I finally decided to give it a shot. Since it was really McSteamy out, I was thrilled to find out that I could get an iced coffee made to order…black. No cream, no sugar, no added calories, no added fat. And guess what? It was McDreamy!

I’ll go back. And, when I do, I just might suggest they add a side of almonds or a protein shake as an option to have with my afternoon McPickmeup. They can call it something clever like a Happy Snack…now that would be number 1!

Now I really must go work on my speech for Ronald and then hit the gym…I’ll ketchup with you later!

oooh there you go!
I hit the drive thru a lot for apples and milk for the child and would totally take a side order of a bag of nuts!!

I am not a coffee drinker, but have heard that their coffee is really good. I think now I am glad I don’t drink it? I would be poor.

Happy snack, lol. I need to try this coffee– there’s a Mickey D’s right on my way to school!

I’ve gotten an iced tea at McDonald’s before and it was really good. I’m from New England and all the sweet tea down here in VA is a little too southern for my taste.

coincidence or just yet another sign that we were separated at birth…but i had a 200 mile road trip ahead of me yesterday with no starbucks in sight (tragedy)…so i hit up McD’s for an iced coffee.  tip: MUST say NO milk or NO sweetener, although they look at you like you’re from another planet.  my take: it’s still not my starbucks and IF  and WHEN starbucks comes out with an iced VIA sans calories/sweetener, i’m sure that will be my sipper of choice.  but in the meantime: not bad.

yet another enlightening and entertaining post from miss spice.

In desperation, I too had a McDonald’s coffee and was pleasantly surprised by McDonald’s coffee. I thought it was all hype. Can only do drive through the smell of those fries is just to tempting!!!

I have been wondering about this coffee as well–can’t seem to break my DD habit to try it though. Thank goodness for you and Miss KO! I won’t be ascared to get some now. BTW…lovin that color on your nails and the thumb ring–very cool!

I just have this knee jerk reflex, I hear McDonald’s and think EW. Good coffee though, huh? Weird.

I don’t eat at McD’s anymore either, but my Mom LOVES the coffee there. It’s one of her favorite palces to get coffee! I guess it’s good!

I’m not a coffee drinker, but that iced coffee does look tempting! I’ve heard the fruit smoothies are good too, but I know I couldn’t just go to a drive-thru for a drink. Although I do like your idea of a protein shake. Somebody at McD’s needs to get on that.

I don’t drink coffee but I’ve always wondered if McD’s java was any good. And oh, that sure would be nice to be able to get a bag of nuts at a fast food joint for those times when those restaurants are all you have around!
