Joanna Sutter’s Pumpkin Butter

About this time every year people start talking about Trader Joe’s pumpkin butter.

So while I wait patiently for the grand opening of our first Trader Joe’s I’ve come up with Trader Joanna’s pumpkin butter also known as…

Joanna Sutter’s Pumpkin Butter

  • 2 cups Pumpkin Puree
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 2 T Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 T Cinnamon
  • 1/2 t Nutmeg
  • 1 T Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1/4 t Salt

Put all ingredients into a sauce pan and simmer for 45 minutes on very low heat. Stir frequently. Refrigerate immediately.

Now let’s address your questions:

  • This sounds incredible! Could I quadruple the recipe and give some away for gifts? Yes, yes you can.
  • You have the best recipes! Now tell me, what should I serve this with? Ahh, shucks! Thank you! Here are 5 ways you can enjoy pumpkin butter:

1. Eat it right off the spoon.
2. Spread it on top of whole wheat toast or a protein pancake.
3. Serve it as a dip with apple slices.
4. Stir it into a bowl of ice cream, I mean oatmeal.
5. Blend a spoonful or two into a vanilla protein shake.

  • Did you notice that your legs are in the reflection of that picture? No comment.

Now I really must go check on the progress of Trader Joe’s and then butter up to my trainer or I’m toast!

Giving this away as a gift is SUCH a great idea!! I may have to copy that one….and give you credit, obviously. I wanted to do granola in celephane, but with pumpkin butter it would be perfect!

Oh yum. I’ve never made pumpkin butter. This would be fantastic to have for a brunch. I think it’s missing one thing: protein powder ;-)

I’ll throw in an “ooh” and a “yum.” I’m definitely making this, although I’m afraid I’d be eating it using option No. 1 too often.

WOW. I think I might be speechless. I found a batch of pumpkin butter I almost splurged on. But let’s just say the sacrifice of carbs and sugar was easier to digest than the price. I think I was paying for the container, the packaging, the clever display and the tempting description by the sales girl that this was “THE BUTTA” of the season. THANK YOU!

I just have to share this one. Hershey’s pumpkin spice kiss is the perfect “kiss” to your morning brew. Just enough spice, none of the syrup-y/guilt ridden kickback of most seasonal latte’s.
