You might have heard American Express declared November 27th Small Business Saturday to spotlight the little businesses that do their part to help make the economy and our communities strong. And because I believe good things often come in small packages and from small businesses, I think this sounds like a day I can celebrate.
In fact, I think we should all consider thinking small as we head out the door to do some big holiday shopping like…
- Hitting the CSA for some local produce or that little coffee shop for a pre-power shopping warm up
- Taking a road trip to that small bike store to find something unique for the cycling enthusiast on your list
- Loading up on gift certificates for massage therapy or personal training
- Refueling at a locally owned restaurant for a healthy lunch
- Dropping by a consultants open house for some of the latest Pampered Chef or Arbonne gift packages or stocking stuffers. By the way, if you don’t know an Arbonne consultant, email me, I know some good ones, right Monica and Sondra?
- Surfing the internet for some fabulous finds at some of our favorite small businesses like LiveWell360, Fashletics, fitbook, Words to Sweat By, or The Protein Bakery
So, before you spend your entire holiday budget on Black Friday, consider setting aside a little dough for Small Business Saturday.
Now I really must go so before you hit the stores remember our motto: Go Small or Go Home!

November 28th 2010I think this is such a great idea. I just heard about it on the news last night. I love supporting small businesses! We have several in our area and I try to frequent them at least once a week. My parents still shop at the local family-owned grocery store! They love it.
