A military BRAT that is. Before you start to Snicker, I’m not a “brat” as in the type of kid that pushes to the front of the crowd to get to the candy bowl first on Halloween. I’m the kind of B.R.A.T that was a Born/Raised/And well/Traveled dependent of a military member.
Ok, that’s not the true definition of military brat either, but here’s another definition for good measure:
Brat: This term generally refers to the son or daughter of a career military person. One possible source is that it comes from B.R.A.T. or British Regiment Attached Traveler. Use of the term has been expanded to include other children who accompany their parents.
Anyway, since I was raised a BRAT, I’ve learned to share and have incredible respect for all of our military personnel. So when the girls at Girl Get Strong suggested sending our leftover Halloween candy to our U.S. Military troops serving overseas, I jumped on it because I have Good & Plenty.
Do you want to get all of your extra Halloween candy off your hips hands all while giving our troops a treat? Then pack up your Halloween candy and support Operation Gratitude by visiting: www.halloweencandybuyback.com to find a donation site near you by entering your zip code in the search field on the right hand side of the screen.
You can bet your Hot Tamales your treats will be well received…
Now I really must go vote and then pack up some Whatchamacallit’s for the Sweethearts! Ok, Ok, so it turns out I’m not only a BRAT but a Nerd, too!
