Sometimes I can sound like a broken record.
Sometimes I can sound like a broken record.
When I review business plans, presentations, emails, proposals, articles, contracts, (yadda three times) for my clients or even my friends, I always give the best input I can based on my knowledge of the situation and my experience. And, if they come back to me for another look and find they are just stuck in analysis-paralysis, or are simply just stuck wordsmithing really strong content, I suggest they stop overthinking it and move on to the next thing.
Chances are if you’ve done your research, applied your experience, and asked for a second opinion you are probably onto something…and if it’s not perfect after putting it into action, you tweak it. I have found this is true in business and in health and fitness.
If you set a goal or a resolution to do something like lose weight, get in shape, join a gym, run a marathon, hire a personal trainer, or eat healthier I suggest you don’t overthink it. Do your homework, apply what’s worked in the past, ask someone for feedback on your plan, and tweak what’s not working.
Just do the work and don’t overthink it.
See, I told you I can sound like a broken record.
Now I really must go to the gym…I’ve got some more records to break!

January 24th 2011YES! I wrote about resolutions at the beginning of the year. I don’t do them but I tell people, don’t give up, re-evaluate & find what works!

January 24th 2011So my food and exercise records for the past dozen years- all in an Excel Spreadsheet…what do I do with those? If I don’t have those to analyze, I might have to put my mind on something…um…important!! ;-) Good reminder. Thank you.

January 24th 2011I’ve been overthinking my weight loss that just started a week ago. It’s all I can think about it seems. I wish I could just find a cruise control and go from there.
