A Course in Spring Clean(eat)ing

Yesterday kicked off one of my four favorite seasons.

And now that winter is behind us, a lot of us are ready for some good ole spring cleaning.

I am not.

But, I am ready to give my diet a little refresher course in Spring Clean Eating.

According to a recent (and totally made up) study, I eat pretty well 84% of the time. It’s the other 16% of the time could use a little improvement. While I am not looking to improve my eating to 100% of unprocessed foods (which is unrealistic for me), I am looking to move my grade from a B to a solid A -.

So now that we’ve started the Spring semester I’m going to sharpen my pencil and work on improving my diet. I’ll start by:

  • Cleaning out the Fitness & Spice kitchen, I mean classroom
  • Welcoming back fresh produce to the class — Asparagus, I’m saving you a front row seat
  • Testing out a few new recipes from one of my favorite textbooks, The Best of Clean Eating

Now I really must go get ready to clean after all so that jar of peanut butter doesn’t sneak past my tulips.

I’ve heard great things about that magazine.  My diet could use a little spring cleaning also.

I totally need a lesson in clean eating. I just purchased the latest Clean Eating magazine yesterday! However, I’m confused…is clean eating about eating things that are not processed or eating organic or both? It is sooo hard to find organic (with the exception of canned veggies) in Mayberry. I have much to learn :)

Got to love that Clean Eating Mag… I did not get the book…. but I love reading the mag although I don’t do well with the cooking part due to my kitchen skills BUT I have one recipe for my protein cookies that I got form there at least 2 years ago & still using!

I am in! I am currently trying to do some spring cleaning as well. No soda, no sugar, no breads, limited processed foods.

Cleansing is good and i know I should do it more! So funny my study is the same as yours. AND until this very post of yours I never knew there was a Clean Eating mag OR book. I need those! :O

Spring is one of my top four faves too!! ;)

I think asparagus is my new favorite veggie. I made asparagus guacamole the other day and it was amazing. I’m all about Clean Eating, and recently was given a subscription to the magazine, and I’m loving it!
