Think Ink

I just read an article about a man who has over 80 tattoos of Julia Roberts on his body.

Now that’s what I call crazy commitment.

I mean, I can hardly commit to a fingernail polish let alone putting a permanent image in ink on my body. Don’t get me wrong, when done well, I think tattoos are fierce and I plan on getting one to 82 of them someday. But not in one sitting and most likely not of the Erin Brockovich megastar, just to be clear.

Speaking of tattoos, I just ran across this quote by John Maxwell:

“Once our minds are ‘tattooed’ with negative thinking, our chances for long-term success diminish.”

This got me thinking…we really are what we think.

So this week I’m going to work on removing the negative thinking etched in my head that are keeping me from reaching my goals. Self doubt, fat talk, what-if’s, guilt trips–be gone! Which will make more room for all of the positive things I am and want to be…like a Pretty (Strong) Woman.

What positive words or images will you permanently tattoo in your head this week?

Now I really must go to the gym and paint my nails…I want to look good if I’m asked to be a bridesmaid in My Best Friend’s Wedding.

It took my husband a while to warm up to a little clover I got on my ankle. I can’t imagine what he would think if I came home with 88 Brad Pitts on me. “Commitment leads to action. Action brings your dream closer.” is my thought tattoo for the week. Sadly, my butt is the only part of my body big enough to get the whole saying on it!
don’t know if you’re looking for other sites that really do a good job with nutrition and fitness, or if you will consider this stepping on toes. If I’m stepping on toes, sorry, you can just delete the comment, but if you’re open to suggestions- my hubby and I are really happy with the program we’re using through http://www.reallifeforhealth.com. Their system is really easy to use and it does everything. They have 1000′s of different recipes to choose from and they help you build a fitness and nutrition plan that suits your goals. Their exercises are all made by a certified personal trainer and come with printable workout cards and details of how the exercises are done. And for the nutrition part they even send you printable daily meal plans and menus, as well as printable daily or weekly grocery lists, which are broken down by the area of the grocery store or supermarket. I like that all the recipes contain 12 ingredients or less, so they are easy enough for even him to cook. There’s also no fad diets, pills, or required supplements. Again, if I’m not stepping on any toes, I suggest you check them out. They offer a free trial anyway, so there’s harm in trying.

oh my. That guy is creeeepy. But I will take your advice and do some brain-etching this week. Something about the positive goal (and promise to myself to ) keep up with the laundry or something ‘err other. Less stressful to keep on top of it.

The mind is a powerful thing. The tattooing of it can be undone. That is one of my primary purposes when comes to my involvement in the fitness world, change the way people think. There thoughts are keeping them from being successful at losing weight and keeping it off.

I’ll say it. Dude’s crazy.

I gave up negative thinking for Lent, and this post just reinforces that I made the right decision, no matter how annoying it is to ALWAYS think positive.

I mean, refreshing. Not annoying… refreshing… heh…

I definitely have some negative thinking to remove from my brain – thanks for the reminder.
