We had a chalk board in our 'dinette' growing up and as kids we loved loved loved it. On a similar note: when I grew up and had a kid's guest room (not a kid!) I painted a magnet strip and put up magnets including an alphabet. Ironically, my adult friends have more fun spelling out dirty words than the kids who visit ever have just playing :-D Thanks for the inspiration! Totally doing this.
