Trick or Treat, Justin’s Give Us Something Good to Eat!

Some things just go together like:

  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Fitness & Spice
  • And Chocolate & Peanut Butter

Justin’s Nut Butter must have gotten the memo because, God bless them, they recently rolled out chocolate peanut butter cups. And not just any chocolate peanut butter cups, organic and fair-trade, milk and dark chocolate peanut butter cups.

I love it when a company I trust takes their core product, in this case peanut butter, and mixes it with something that complements it so sweetly. My compliments to Chef Justin!

Look for Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups at your Whole Foods and in my tricked out healthier-for-you Halloween treat bowl.

Now I really must go finish my chocolate & peanut butter treats, put on my shoes & socks, and go work some bi’s & tri’s!

Chocolate Sings a New Tune

I love everything about dark chocolate so if you want to get on my good side send me chocolate.

That’s exactly what Attune Foods did.

After hearing MizFit talk about the all natural, probiotic chocolate bars in the Attune line, I was curious so I went to my local Whole Foods to hunt them down. Sadly, my Whole Foods does not sell these bars YET, but you can bet your sweet abs, I’ll be talking to them about that.

So when Attune told me I could buy them online AND offered to send me a few bars to sample, I was singing a new tune.

They sent me 3 bars:

  • Dark chocolate
  • Raspberry Dark Chocolate
  • Coffee Bean Dark Chocolate

Two of the three bars may or may not have been consumed on the same day. I’ll never tell.

But, what I will tell you is I loved them all and fell madly in love with the Coffee Bean Dark Chocolate. Check out my award-worthy photograph—real chocolate covered coffee beans!

Great taste, antioxidants, 80-90 calories each, and probiotics?! I’ll be bellying up to the Attune Wellness Bar again. And again.

Now I really must go workout and then hit Whole Foods to see if I can get them to carry Attune!

Confessions of a Fitness & Spice Girl

Bless me blog-readers for I have sinned. Sort of.

Ok, let’s just say there are a few things that I may or may not do behind the scenes of Fitness & Spice and I thought I’d better come clean.

For example:

I may or may not eat protein powder straight from the container. Dry. With a spoon. You know how some people drink milk right from the carton? Well, that’s just gross, but it’s kind of like that. I don’t recommend trying this at home because it may or may not be a chocking hazard.

I may or may not eat PB2, powdered peanut butter, the same way I may or may not eat protein powder…straight out of the container. Don’t judge.

I may or may not swallow gum. Yes, I am well aware of what the rumor mill has to say about this one!

I may or may not have used ketchup in place of salad dressing last night. Not because I’m a ketchup person, I don’t put ketchup on my eggs or anything wrong like that, but because I was out of salad dressing and was too lazy to make any from scratch.

Speaking of salads, Chef Ann Cooper and the good people at Whole Foods are sponsoring a project to put salad bars in schools. Their goal is to get a new salad bar in at least one school near each of its U.S. based Whole Foods locations by January 2011—that’s nearly 300 schools! Check out the Salad Bar Project for more information and see how you can apply for a grant for your school or donate to the campaign.

Now I really may or may not have to back to the confessional but before I do, I need to wish Mom and Dad Spice a very happy and healthy anniversary!

Water. Cooler.

IMG_8636My new water bottle puts the cooler back in water cooler.

There are so many things I love about my Life Factory water bottle, where should I begin? Let’s start with the obvious, it comes in a range of refreshing colors like Fitness & Spice Red. They don’t call it that color, but you get the idea.

In addition to the modern design, I love that this tall drink of water is…

  • Environmentally and visually friendly
  • Made of glass with a silicon cover to protect it from breaking (yes I’ve dropped mine twice without a splash)
  • Dishwasher safe
  • 22 ounces with the number of ounces embossed on the silicon sleeve so you can make sure you stay properly hydrated
  • Cup holder tested–it fits in my car, spinning bike, and treadmill cup holder comfortably
  • Big-mouthed (no comments from the peanut gallery!) which is perfect for adding ice cubes, lemon wedges, or cucumber slices to whatever your drinking

You can find these water bottles in my gym bag, at www.lifefactory.com, and I’ve also spotted them at my Whole Foods, too.

Now I really must go to the gym and you need to go grab some H20…water you waiting for?
